How you’ll make an impact  

As a Claims Consultant your purpose is to be there for your community and put things right for our customers, during life’s everyday wobbles (crashed car, lost phone, etc) or when disaster strikes (flood, tornado, etc).  

You will be responsible for case managing claims from when the event occurs right through to completion through a range of communication channels, looking to settle claims as quickly and easily as possible.

No matter the call, being compassionate, displaying empathy, and being able to clearly explain and handle the claims processes help put your customer at ease.

Your new role

  • Lodge and proactively manage claims on behalf of IAG customers; liaising with internal and external providers and experts as required
  • Provide world-class customer experiences that create advocates for our business
  • Identify priority claims, complex claims, and claims from vulnerable customers
  • Develop and maintain claims handling, system, and policy wording knowledge, including any risk and compliance issues
  • Actively participate as a constructive contributor with the immediate team by sharing knowledge, skills, and resources where needed and supporting as required in large major events

Your Attributes

  • Empathy – Ability to relate to and adapt your approach to your customers in a caring and professional way
  • Ability to show engagement
  • Previous customer service experience: if you’ve worked in hospitality, retail or call center environments
  • Effective communication skills: Active listening, clear verbal and written
  • Confident computer skills; comfortable navigating multiple systems simultaneously
  • Passionate about helping people and relationship building
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
